The familiarity of the fluorescent lighting amidst the darkness shows the viewer a 7-Eleven as a midnight oasis when everything else is closed. This painting is meant to evoke nostalgia not only for the local regulars, but for anyone who has
ever bought a Slurpee past dark. The surface is a canvas board which had originally been used as an experimental color study, then covered over with black acrylic and painted.
